In 2020, the municipality granted Unpack & Kayak the Platform Recreation and Tourism (PRET) subsidy, aimed at stimulating the local tourist and recreation sector. This subsidy comprises a large portion of Unpack & Kayak's promotional budget.

ESN Groningen is the biggest section of the Erasmus Student Network in the Netherlands. ESN Groningen is dedicated to giving international and internationally oriented students the best time possible in Groningen. This is achieved by organizing more than 150 events per year of which 2 large introduction weeks at the beginning of each semester. Through Unpack & Kayak, ESN Groningen offers students the unique opportunity to explore the Dutch countryside by kayaking, canoeing, and camping in the Maas en Waal region.

Uit®Waarde
Uit®waarde is the organization responsible for the management, development, and maintenance of the infrastructure in the 'Rievierengebied'. Unpack & Kayak and Uit®waarde collaborate during the Unpack & Kayak Gouden Ham Clean-up Days, in which residents of the Maas en Waal region can borrow vessels and equipment to remove rubbish from the water and the water's edge.
